The extract of these fern was used to kill or poison the fish.. also it has pungent Smell... i have lots of memories with this fern.

Deer Fern is a bit similar to Polystichum munitum but it doesn't have the sticky-out bit (the "hilt" of the sword) at the bottom of the pinnae. There are also different types of fronds, sterile (shown below) and fertile - taller and narrower.

Sword Ferns, found mostly in the temperate regions on North east India and North Carolina.

Beautifully crafted by nature.......Fern and Orchid.... it was a bliss to click this one....

Ferns

They hardly attracts any photographer of any other onlooker but they are a bliss to nature.
and North east part on India is the base for numerous species of Ferns.
